Q: What is the difference between an ElectroWarmth® bed warmer and an
electric blanket?
A: An electric blanket is used as a covering, the bed warmer is used under the bedding.
You sleep ON it, not UNDER it. The bed warmer attaches directly to your mattress and is
covered up by your normal bedding. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are much more energy
efficient than an electric blanket because of the way they are used. Your covers hold
in the heat that rises from below. The heat from an electric blanket rises from above
you and escapes into the room.
Q: My home heating costs are high, will this ElectroWarmth® bed warmer cost
me more for electricity?
A: No. In fact, with an ElectroWarmth® bed warmer, you can turn down the heat in
your home during the night and still sleep comfortably. By turning down the heat in
your home, you will not only save on heating fuel costs, but your furnace blower,
refrigerator and freezer will also run less in a cooler house. This will help reduce
power costs.
Q: How do I know what size ElectroWarmth® bed warmer I need?
A: The model number of each warmer indicates its width. The bed warmers vary in
length from 74 to 84 inches depending upon the model chosen. You have to measure the
length of your bed to know which length fitted bed warmer to choose. The fitted bed
warmer can be the same width as but not wider than your mattress. For example
the model M38FL measures 38 inches wide by 80 inches long, and can be used either for a
twin sized mattress of that length or on one side of a split mattress king-sized bed.
By a split mattress king or queen size bed we mean one which is composed of two single or
twin sized mattresses placed on two corresponding size box spring sets or on a single
queen or king size box spring to create a queen or king size bed.
Q: What do the bed warmers look like?
A: The bed warmers very much resemble a mattress pad. They are made of 100% 6 oz white
poly/cotton blend material quilted with 78/44 poly/cotton thread, and are about 1/4 inch
thick. The fitted models are made like a fitted sheet with the heating wires quilted
into the 60 inches at the foot end of the warmer, and have extra cloth at the head
of the bed that allows the warmer to cover the entire mattress. This allows for your
head and shoulders to remain cool while the rest of your body is warmed by the pad. The
fitted bed warmer has elasticized corner pockets to hold it in place just like a fitted
sheet does. The warmers are quilted around the heating wires in such a way that you do
not feel the wires when you are laying on the warmer.
Q: Are ElectroWarmth® bed warmers washable?
A: Yes. They may be either hand or machine washed. Detailed washing instructions are
included with each fitted bed warmer which we sell. Since the bed warmers are used
underneath your other bed coverings, there is not much need to clean them on a regular
basis.
Q: Are they safe if something is spilled on them (or a child wets the bed)?
A: Yes. The heating element wires within the bed warmers are shielded. In the case of
bed wetting, there is also a cleanliness issue. We recommend covering the bed warmer
with a rubber sheet that can be purchased at stores such as Wal-Mart. The rubber sheet
will help keep the bed warmer clean and will reduce the need to clean it regularly.
However, you should not use a bed warmer for a child who is too young to operate the
controls alone.
Q: How does the bed warmer stay in place under the covers?
A: The fitted bed warmer is very similar to a fitted sheet in that it covers the entire
mattress and is held in place using elasticised corners that reach around the corners of
the mattress.
Q: Can I use a bed warmer on an adjustable bed?
A: We recommend that they not be so used. UL certification rules require the manufacturer
to include a disclaimer stating that they should not be so used. The concern is that in the
operation of an adjustable bed the bed warmer might become pinched in the folds and the wires
be kinked. If this happens, a potential fire hazzard exists. These devices are intended to
lie flat on a fixed mattress.
Q: Does the Comfort Control temperature control make a clicking sound when you change
the temperature setting?
A: No. The temperature control is very quiet and transitions smoothly from one temperature
setting to another.
Q: What sort of warranty is there?
A: ElectroWarmth® bed warmers come with a full one year guarantee. If anything goes wrong
with the bed warmer during that first year, it will be repaired or replaced with a new one.
After the year warranty has expired, low-cost factory-direct service is available if it is ever
needed. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are high quality products and have very few problems.
We have customers that have had the same bed warmer for over 30 years without need for
maintenance. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
Q: Do you have a satisfaction guarantee?
A: Yes we do. We have a full 30 day satisfaction guarantee. If during that time you determine
that the bed warmer is not meeting your needs, we will be happy to have you return it. We are
confident that once you have a bed warmer that you will never want to be without it.
Q: Where are the bed warmers made?
A: ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are manufactured in the United States in the state of Ohio.
Q: In my electric blanket, I can feel the heating wires and they are uncomfortable to me.
Are the heating wires in an ElectroWarmth® fitted bed warmer uncomfortable as well?
A: Absolutely Not! The heating wires used in ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are quilted
into the padding of the warmer in order to make them undetectable when you are sleeping.
Q: On the website, I saw several testimonials... are they real?
A: Absolutely! Every testimonial we feature on the website was submitted by people that
have purchased an ElectroWarmth® bed warmer and was unsolicited.
Q: What do you recommend for young children or elderly people?
A: We recommend that the person using the bed warmer be able to adjust the temperature
control and be able to know what to do if they are too warm. We do not recommend the
bed warmer for children under the age of 5.
Q: Can I use a bed warmer in my camper or trailer?
A: Yes, if you have either a 120 volt electrical hook-up at the campground or your own
portable 120 volt generator.
Q: I am a Massage Therapist, can I use a bed warmer on my massage table?
A: No. We produce two different sized massage table warmers specifically for use by
Massage Therapists. These warmers allow the therapist to lower the room temperature for
a cooler working environment, while keeping the client comfortable and relaxed.
Q: I have a large mattress (Queen or King) and my partner likes to be cool and I
like to be warm. Can you help?
A: Absolutely! Our larger models are available with dual comfort controls. This allows
each person to select the temperature they want. If one person would not use their
side, it can simply be turned off.
Q: I am a truck driver and I have to keep my engine idling while I sleep in
order to stay warm, do you have anything that I can use to stay warm without having to
keep my engine going?
A: Yes! Our T-36 model was designed with truck drivers in mind. The cord is 10 feet
long which gives you plenty of length to reach from the cigarette lighter socket to your
bunk. This allows you to sleep comfortably without having to idle your truck. The
warmer will pay for itself in just a couple days in fuel savings alone. You will also
be cutting down on air pollution from the exhaust fumes from your truck. Our bunk
warmers are in use all over the United states by many trucking fleets.
Q: Is the ElectroWarmth® Bedwarmer UL Approved?
A: Yes.
